Club:
As U17 in 2005, recorded 3 defensive saves, 4 goals and 2 assists as center back. Was team MVP at the Las Vegas College Showcase and most outstanding player at the Nike Harvest Cup. In 2004, played with Celtic Storm U17 Select. Was teams Defensive MVP as a sweeper and was also a team captain.

High School:
As a senior team captain at Timpanogos HS, Nelson was a 1st Team All-Region IV selection as a center midfielder. As junior, named 1st Team All-Region VII and helped the Timberwolves to their best season in school history and a 4A #1 season long ranking.

ODP:
Nelson was a member of Utah '88 ODP in 2002-03.

Jessica is the daughter of Doug and Sally Nelson.
